This Placements in Practice site provides guidance for students, Higher Education institutions (HE), colleges (FE) and host organisations providing support or solutions for students embarking on arts-based work placements.
The guidance offered intends to promote the value of work placement as a mechanism for equipping artists with the skills and expertise to work in a variety of settings, with a variety of participants, to enhance the quality of the student experience and to encourage consistent approaches in planning, supporting and evaluating the placements themselves.
Guidance is offered in a number of ways, including:
- Student reflections on their experiences of planning and delivering a work placement
- Case studies from host organisations experienced in offering work placement opportunities to students
- Case studies and resources from HEs and colleges who have developed effective work placement systems and supports
- Effective practice guides
A pilot network for academics and support colleagues from schools, colleges, universities and specialist institutions.
